Homeless veterans stand-down on Oct. 19

TOGUS, Maine — VA Maine Healthcare System will host its 16th annual Maine Homeless Veterans Stand-Down beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at  Togus VA Medical Center . The daylong event will be conducted with a wide range of volunteers from private, state and federal organizations as well as Veterans Service Organizations and individuals.  Homeless Veterans will be provided transportation that day from sixteen pick-up points throughout the state – from Caribou to York and points between.

Homeless Veterans can select from a diverse offering of available services including medical/dental screening, employment opportunities, housing services, needs assessment, counseling, legal advice, cold weather clothing and many other types of services and support. There will be a full dinner provided for homeless Veterans and volunteers.

We would like to thank all the various organizations and individuals that very generously help make this annual event such a success.
