AUGUSTA, Maine — The Home Care & Hospice Alliance of Maine, held its Annual Membership meeting in Freeport on September 13.
Julie Shackley, Board President and President/CEO of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice of Lewiston, facilitated the presentation of six special recognition awards. The Media Award was presented to Steve Hitchcock, Eastern Maine HomeCare of Caribou. The Advocate of the Year Award was presented to Bonita Usher, VNA Home Health & Hospice of South Portland. Miles Hunt, Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice of Lewiston, received the Board Member of the Year Award. Kathy Look, Care & Comfort of Waterville and Duska Robinson, Community Health and Counseling of Bangor, received the Caregiver of the Year Awards. The Distinguished Service Award was presented to Mary Cahoon, Community Health and Counseling Services of Bangor.
In addition, the Home Care & Hospice Alliance of Maine elected the following individuals to serve for a one-year term as officers on the Executive Committee:
President, Julie Shackley, Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice of Lewiston;
Vice President, Reita Abbott, St. Joseph Home Care and Hospice of Bangor;
Treasurer, Suzi Tracy, VNA Home Health & Hospice of South Portland; and
Susan Giguere, Care & Comfort of Waterville.
