BANGOR, Maine – Penobscot Community Health Care announced that Dr. Philip W. Higgins Jr. has been named dental director at PCHC’s Dental Center at 1048 Union St.

Higgins received adental medical degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston in 1979, and participated in post-doctoral training at Maine Medical Center.

Higgins is president of the State of Maine Board of Dental Examiners and has been in private practice since 1980, which he will continue on a part-time basis. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Maine Dental Association and was a past president of MDA.
