PORTLAND, Maine — Harvard Pilgrim Health Care recently announced that Charles R. Goheen, a seasoned finance executive with more than 25 years experience in both the provider and payor environments, has been named as Chief Financial Officer.
In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Harvard Pilgrim’s accounting, financial planning, tax, actuarial, underwriting and treasury operations. Harvard Pilgrim employs 20 at its offices on Market Street in Portland.
Goheen is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Neighborhood Health Plan where he has led all strategic, tactical and operational aspects of the plan’s finances. Prior to that, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Fallon Community Health Plan and at the Provider Service Network, the management service organization supporting CareGroup, Lahey Clinic and other delivery systems in managed care. Earlier in his career, Goheen also served as a Vice President of Finance for the Medical Groups Division at Harvard Community Health Plan.
A resident of Wellesley, Goheen holds a master’s degree in management from the Sloan School at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Harvard College.
He will begin his new duties on August 27.
