Artist and peace activist will be the recipient of the Peace and Justice Center of Eastern Maine’s Hands of Peace Award at a Harvest Supper on Oct. 13.
BANGOR, Maine — Rob Shetterly of Brooksville, creator of “Americans Who Tell the Truth” and Maine peace activist, will be honored with the Hands of Peace Award at the 23rd annual Peace and Justice Center Harvest Supper 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 120 Park Street in Bangor. Dud Hendrick of Veterans for Peace, who received the award in 2010, will present the award.
The Youth Hands of Peace Award will be given to Dan White who has been active with the Maine Peace Action Committee, a student organization at the University of Maine.
A potluck supper (bring a vegetarian dish to share) will be co-sponsored by the Peace and Justice Center of Eastern Maine and the social justice committee of Unitarian Universalist Society of Bangor.
Admission is by a suggested donation of $10, $15 family. Proceeds will benefit the Peace & Justice Center of Eastern Maine. For information, call 207-942-9343.
