Handmade Papers Gallery open house and raffle

BROOKLIN, Maine – Handmade Papers Gallery will hold an open house between 5 and 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31.

The event hosted by Brooklin members of the Blue Hill Chamber of Commerce celebrates the new summer season by opening the doors of area businesses for an evening of fun and discovery in the Brooklin area.

To celebrate the new season before us, we will be holding a raffle with 100 percent  of the proceeds going to benefit The Brooklin Fire Department. The item up for raffle is a beautiful handmade ceiling lantern by Rick Jaeckel. Made from Western Red Cedar and luminescent handmade paper by Virginia Sarsfield, this lantern is a beautiful example of Craftsman style lighting.

Raffle tickets are $5.00 a piece, and you may purchase them the day of the “Open House,” or call the Gallery during business hours, noon to five, Wednesday through Sunday to purchase your tickets before hand.

Stop by Handmade Papers Gallery during our “Open House” to check out our new line of Origami papers, and view our wide variety of artist-grade papers, handmade paper lampshades, jewelry, artisan lamps, and linocuts by Maritime artist, James Dodds. And don’t forget the door prizes!

For more information about the event, and to purchase your raffle tickets, please call Virginia or Stephanie at (207) 359-8345. Directions to the gallery can be found online at
