HAMPDEN, Maine — The Town of Hampden wishes to invite all interested persons to attend our annual Arbor Day Tree Planting Ceremony, as part of Maine Arbor Week, May 20-24, 2012. This year’s event will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, at Dorothea Dix Park in Hampden.
The Town of Hampden was honored with the National Arbor Day Foundation Tree City USA designation for the sixth year in a row, on Monday, May 20, at a ceremony in Auburn. The Tree City USA status represents a community effort to emphasize the numerous environmental and social benefits that trees provide.
