AUGUSTA, Maine — A new twist to the ubiquitous beer-tasting festivals held around the State will be a Witches Brew Fest 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Augusta Armory.
Attendees are being encouraged to come in costume and those who do will be entered in a special raffle for a luxury stay at the Senator Inn & Spa.
The Armory will be decorated for the Halloween season and live R&B music will be provided by Doc Frankin & The Brew Steins.
In addition to the 30 unusual domestic and imported micro-brews and ciders the festival will feature a free photo booth, a stein-hoisting contest, food, and a general raffle of valuable prizes for all.
The male and female who hold up their full beer steins the longest will be eligible for the finals at the Sam Adams Brewing Co. in Boston. The finalists will win a free trip to an Octoberfest in Germany next year.
The Witches Brew Fest is a production of Central Maine Festivals and sponsored by Goose Island Brewing, Long Trail Brewing, and the Maine Childrens Home.
Tickets are available at Jokas’ Discount Beverage in Waterville, The Liberal Cup in Hallowell, Lisa’s Restaurant in Augusta and on-line at centralmainebrews.com.
