SOUTHWEST HARBOR, Maine – Local restaurants, musicians, brewers and garlic growers will celebrate at the 14th annual garlic festival 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Smuggler’s Den Campground to benefit KidsPeace New England Autism Spectrum Disorders Program.
Frank Pendola, who started the garlic festival with just a few friends who gathered to celebrate the harvesting of his garlic crop, says he enjoys the chance to make a difference with the event.
In addition to food, the festival will offer music and other entertainment, including dog agility demonstrations. Admission is $5.
