Garden shop to sponsor breast cancer awareness program

TENANTS HARBOR, Maine — The Blue Tulip Garden Boutique will co-sponsor a breast cancer awareness program at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Jackson Memorial Library at the St. George Town Hall, Main Street, in Tenants Harbor.

Women of all ages, especially mothers with young daughters, are encouraged to attend the presentation given by Peter King, development director of Maine Cancer Foundation in Falmouth; Ginny Vaitones, oncology social worker and Tenants Harbor resident; and Dawn Murphy, oncology nurse practitioner. Both Vaitones and Murphy are on the staff at the Pen Bay Cancer Care Center in Rockport.

Refreshments and sale of pink tulip and daffodil bulbs to benefit Maine Cancer Foundation’s “Pink Tulip Project,” will follow the discussion.
