Galerie Dufour in downtown Belfast hosts an opening reception on Friday evening, June 7, to begin its 10th exhibition season. This show features a potpourri of works by gallery owner and photographic artist Charles Laurier Dufour. Most of the works in this show will be photographs that have not been exhibited to date, and a few will be works that were previously exhibited in a smaller format. All are fine art nudes and most were composed and captured in natural settings.
Of late, Dufour has received critical acclaim including receiving First Place awards at the Maine Photography Show sponsored by the Boothbay Region Art Foundation (BW Category), in Hallowell at the Harlow Gallery’s Art 2013 (Photography Category), and in Montreal’s Photo Shoot 2013 – Nude (Urban Category). Two of Dufour’s works will be in Lewiston’s Lyceum Gallery this summer for the annual Through the Lens juried photography exhibition where last year he took First Place honors in the BW Category; winners for 2013 will be announced on June 14. A few of his pieces have also been exhibited in three additional juried exhibitions at the Darkroom Gallery in Essex Junction, VT.
Galerie Dufour’s 2013 Exhibition Season opening receptions are scheduled for June 7, July 5, August 9, September 6, and October 4. The opening receptions will commence at 5:30 and end at 8:00 pm.
