AUBURN, Maine – An Auburn-based dermatology clinic will offer free radiation tattoo removals to breast cancer survivors during October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The clinic will also begin offering free tattoo removals to those who have been denied employment in order to increase their employability.
Your Best Skin of Maine will remove breast cancer survivors’ radiation tattoos, which are small permanent marks given to guide radiation treatments. While some survivors embrace these as a sign of strength, said Pat Donahue, owner of Your Best Skin, others are eager to have the reminders removed and move on.
In addition, the clinic will offer free tattoo removals to anyone who feels they were denied employment due to their tattoos. Prospective customers need only bring a recent rejection letter, for any reason, to their first consultation at the clinic.
Your Best Skin opened in May to “restore clear skin and improve self-esteem and employability to customers in the area,” according to Donahue.
The dermatology clinic features state-of-the-art laser aesthetic workstations and offers skin rejuvenation, hair removal, tattoo removal, and wrinkle, spot, and scar reductions.
Your Best Skin is located at 34 Center St., Suite 3, in Auburn. Its website is YourBestSkinOfMaine.com. It can be found on Facebook at /yourbestskinofme, and on Twitter at @YourBestSkinME.
