Free program to teach stylists and beauty professionals to spot suspicious moles

SOUTH PARIS, Maine — The Melanoma Foundation of New England and the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing will offer “The Skinny on Skin: A Free Skin Cancer Education Program for Salon Professionals” from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, 256 Main St. The program will teach beauty professionals and stylists how to recognize suspicious moles on a client’s head and neck. The program will be taught by Dr. Marcia Matuska, a Lewiston dermatologist. It is free but reservations must be made in advance. Call (800) 557-6352 or email skinnyonskin@mfne.org.
