Free health education lecture on food supplements

ELLSWORTH, Maine — “What Constitutes Quality in a Food Supplement” will be offered at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, at Unitarian Universalist Church, 121 Bucksport Road. Speaker Gary Giles, vice president of Product and Research at the Juice Plus Co., oversees all quality control, testing, good manufacturing practice, strict independent certification of ingredients, clinical research (31 studies completed and 10 currently underway), sourcing of the produce that Juice Plus contains, and compliance with U.S. and international regulations in 22 countries.  He will address the crucial issue of what constitutes quality in a supplement — what to look for to make sure that you make  these important investments in your health wisely.
