PORTLAND, Maine — Four Maine high schools will compete in the 2013 MaineLifeSmarts State Championship beginning at 8 a.m. Friday, March 1, on the Unum corporate campus, 2211 Congress St.
Students from Sanford High School, Waynflete School, Woodland High School and United Technology Center will be quizzed in the areas of personal finance, health and safety, the environment, technology and consumer rights and responsibilities. The championship match is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The winning team will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to compete in the national finals April 20-23, in Atlanta, Ga.
LifeSmarts is offered in 42 states. This is Maine’s first year and is being hosted by MaineJump$tart.
