Four EMHS long-term care facilities receive awards

BREWER, Maine — EMHS has announced that the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill, Ross Manor and Stillwater Health Care in Bangor, and Dexter Health Care in Dexter have received  Celebrating Excellence Awards by the Maine Health Care Association.

This recognition honors employees and facilities in three distinct categories: Excellence in Caregiving – Nursing and other disciplines, Excellence in Innovative Programming Awards and Excellence in Quality Awards.

Within the EMHS family, the following employees are being honored with the Excellence in Caregiving award: Nicole Bartlett, CNA-M, Stillwater Health Care; Kathryn Hall, director of Activities and Volunteer Services, Ross Manor; Hazel Harvey, housekeeper, Stillwater Health Care; and Vicki Jackson, activities director, Aroostook Health Center.

Dexter Health Care received an Excellence in Quality Award for their work in Reduction of Pressure Ulcers. Stillwater Health Care received a National Quality Award by MCHA’s national organization, the American Health Care Association.

All winners will be recognized during the Celebrating Excellence Awards Luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 13, in Augusta.
