CASTINE, Maine — Fireside cooking, a favorite event at the John Perkins House, will return July 11 and 15, and Aug. 8, 12 and 15. A variety of traditional recipes will be demonstrated — which often includes bread and donuts.
The John Perkins House is the oldest house in Castine and was saved from demolition in the late 1960s by the Wilson Museum. It was taken down piece by piece and reassembled on the museum’s grounds on Perkins Street. The home is now open for guided tours 2-5 p.m. Wednesdays and Sundays.
Admission for tours and fireside cooking is $5.
