Fifth-graders to participate in Mass on All Saint’s Day

AUGUSTA, Maine — Fifth-graders at St. Michael School will dress as saints and participate in Mass in honor of All Saints’ Day on Thursday, Nov. 1.

All Saints’ Day is a solemnity celebrated on the first day of November in honor of all

saints, known and unknown.

The class will dress as different saints, including the apostles of Jesus, St. Elizabeth of Hungary, St. Teresa, Mary Magdalene and others.

“My brother did the same thing when he was in fifth grade,” says fifth grader Julia White. “I can’t wait!”

In addition to dressing the part, the students will take part in the procession with Father Francis Morin

during a 9 a.m. Mass at St. Mary’s Church on 41 Western Ave.
