BANGOR, Maine – Cross Insurance will host a Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event at Bangor’s new arena and convention center that is expected to draw more than 700 people.
If estimates are correct, this event will be the largest in the organization’s history.
“I think our members are not only curious to see this incredible facility, but they also want to celebrate this great accomplishment by our community,” said John Porter, president and CEO of the Chamber, in a press release. “And it is so fitting that Cross Insurance, one of Bangor’s leading companies and the center’s lead sponsor, will be hosting this Chamber event.”
The Cross Insurance Center was scheduled to be completed in September, but the building was finished ahead of schedule. The first event ever held there, the Bangor High School graduation, took place last weekend as a “soft” opening. The Chamber event is one of a few scheduled for the facility prior to its grand opening on Sept. 10.
Business After Hours is a networking event sponsored by the Chamber and held at a different member business each month. It is free and open to all Chamber members – including all employees of businesses that belong to the Chamber – as well as to businesses and other organizations that are actively considering Chamber membership. Typically, a Business After Hours event draws between 175 and 200 people.
