BAR HARBOR, Maine — Big Moose contra band is back at the Jesup Library with an early-bird dance at 6:30 p.m. and the official contradance at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 7, with Bill Schubeck as caller.
The band features Bob McCormick on bodhran, Judith Chittenden, Emma Walsh and Ruth Grierson on fiddle, David Quinby on bass, Charlie Richardson on fiddle and guitar, Keith Davis on guitar, Fred Benson on banjo and guitar, David Towle on fiddle and accordion, Jim Vekasi on mandolin, and frequent guest appearances by Chuck Donnelly and some of the area’s finest musicians.
Admission for the early-bird dance is $2 for adults and $1 for children. Admission for the 8 p.m. contradance is $6 for adults and children are admitted for free.
