Concert to feature Millay poetry set to music

CAMDEN, Maine — The Edna St. Vincent Millay celebration willcontinue with a musical evening of the Millay’s poem settings at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, in the Millay Room at the Whitehall Inn. Soprano Nancy Ellen Ogle and pianist Laura Artesani, faculty at the University of Maine School of Performing Arts, will perform.

This is the 14th of 20 events in the Millay series marking the 100th anniversary of the “discovery” of the future Pulitzer-prize winning poet at the Whitehall Inn on Aug. 29, 1912. The concert will include two versions of Millay’s “Recuerdo,” “First Fig,” “What Lips My Lips Have Kissed” and many others.
