ORONO, Maine — The Orono Public Library will be offering computer workshops specifically for senior citizens during the month of August.
These workshops will be presented by Patrick Therrien, Technology & Education Training Specialist for the Broadband Technology Opportunity Program (BTOP) through the Maine State Library.
Basic Computer Skills will be offered10 a.m.-12 p.m.n Thursday, August 2. Topics covered will include:
- Understanding the World Wide Web
- Operating computer tasks
- Basic E-mail Tasks
- Working with a Word Document.
Facebook for Seniors will be offered in two sessions:
- 1-3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2: Part 1 – Building a profile and account in Facebook.
- 1-4 p.m. Thursday, Aug 9: Part II&III: Review and set privacy settings. How to protect information and Utilizing Facebook in everyday life.
