Community survey launched in four-town region

LIBERTY, Maine  – The Sheepscot Wellspring Land Alliance is reaching out to residents in its service area of Freedom, Liberty, Montville and Palermo. Next week, a short survey will be mailed to all residents in the four towns.

The 12-question survey asks for input on a list of natural and recreational resources including wetlands, farmland, woodlots, wildlife habitat, swimming areas, places to hunt, trails and waterfront access.

The surveys will be followed up by community conversations in the service area in October.

Everyone returning a survey by Monday, Oct. 15, will be entered in a drawing to receive a gift certificate or prize from the following local business supporters Freedom General Store, Hilltop Store, John’s Ice Cream, the Liberty Graphics T-Shirt Outlet, Lori’s Diner and Olde Mill Diner.

This outreach effort is supported by grants from the Fund for Maine Conservation of the Maine Community Foundation and the New England Grassroots Foundation.
