Community radio station receives grant for transmitter

BANGOR –  Bangor Savings Bank Foundation recently awarded WERU with a $5,000 grant to be used for the purchase of a new radio transmitter. The WERU New Transmitter Campaign has a goal of $125,000 and as of April 10 $105,000 had been raised through individual and foundation gifts.

WERU is a noncommercial grassroots media organization that broadcasts at 89.9 Blue Hill and 99.9 Bangor, with studio and offices in East Orland. The target date for installing the new transmitter is by August.
