CAMDEN, Maine — Peopleplace Cooperative Preschool will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a Community Connections fundraising dinner 5-9 p.m. Jan. 15, at Cappy’s Chowder House and Harbor View, 1 Main St. During the time specified, Cappy’s has agreed to donate up to half of its food sales to restaurant patrons to Peopleplace to help the preschool reach its goals.
Peopleplace is a community preschool program that encourages parents to be engaged in their children’s education and involved in their school, and teaches children to be independent thinkers, as well as the importance of community and respect for each other.
This year the school is celebrating its 30th year of being a community preschool. Peopleplace’s goal is to raise $30,000 to fund scholarships, professional development for teachers, special programming for children and their families, and capital improvements to the building and grounds.
Peopleplace representatives will be on hand at the restaurant all evening to answer questions about Peopleplace Cooperative Preschool.
