BOSTON, Mass. — The public is invited to visit and tour the towers and keeper’s houses of 22 Maine lighthouses from Biddeford to Lubec, Saturday, Sept. 15, during the 3rd annual Maine Open Lighthouse Day.
This event is the largest of its kind in the country, and is coordinated by the U.S. Coast Guard, in partnership with the Maine Office of Tourism and the American Lighthouse Foundation.
Most of the 22 ocean, river and island lighthouses will be open to visitors from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guided or self-guided tours. The list of participating lights can be seen at the Light House Day website.
