SCARBOROUGH, Maine — Operation Game Thief will hold its first Southern Maine Sporting Clays Fun Shoot fundraiser beginning at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29, at Scarborough Fish and Game Club. This shoot is limited to the first 100 registrants. All that are registered prior to Sept. 1 will be entered into a special raffle for a $250 Gift Card to Cabela’s. You can register at www.MaineOGT.org (go to the upcoming events tab on the site).
All participants will receive a Cabela’s gear bag loaded with goodies. Kittery trading Post and Cabela’s have both made large donations to this cause, with more than $1,800 in gift certificates and raffle prizes and silent auction prizes currently worth more than $4,000. Firearms have been donated by Kittery Trading Post (Smith & Wesson MP Compact 40 Handgun) and Benelli (12-gauge Nova pump shotgun) to be used to raise funds for this cause. We also are still in the process of soliciting even more items for raffle and silent auction.
A full steak lunch will be cooked and served by the wardens in attendance, and they will be accompanied by the state of Maine “Wall of Shame “ trailer, that holds many artifacts and stories of poachers that have been apprehended. In addition you will be treated to a great exhibition shooting demonstration at lunchtime by team “Zespy,” Jeremy Holt and Colin Micklon.
We are expecting a “sellout” of 100 shooters so you need to register ASAP @ www.MaineOGT.org. Cost is $100 per shooter for 100 rounds of sporting clays on one of the finest courses in New England.
