CASTINE, Maine — The Castine Woman’s Club will hold the first of our three Dinners at Noon on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Trinity Episcopal Church, at the corner of Perkins and Tarratine streets.
A dinner of beef stew, salad and dessert will be served.
Any community members of Castine and the surrounding towns are welcome.
Donations will help defray the cost of the ingredients, however, since most of the food is donated by Woman’s Club members, any extra goes to various community projects or a scholarship fund.
The Castine Woman’s Club recently made a significant contribution to the renovation of the kitchen in Emerson Hall, in memory of Marjorie Wood who began “Dinners at Noon” many years ago.
With members from the peninsula area, the Castine Woman’s Club is open to all women. It raises funds for community improvement and scholarships, plus items for schools and other organizations.
For a reservation, call Jeannie at 326-4493 and also let us know if you will need transportation. In the event of inclement weather, the next meal will be the last Tuesday in February.
