CALAIS, Maine — Calais Regional Hospital has been recognized with four awards for healthcare service quality for 2012 by Avatar Solutions, a research company that conducts patient satisfaction surveys for hospitals across the nation. Calais Regional Hospital was one of 12 hospitals to receive the Overall Best Performer award, which represents the top 2.5 percent in Avatar’s National Database.
The Overall Best Performer award is based on the results of the hospital’s 2012 patient surveys. This national award is presented to the top facilities in Avatar’s national database with the highest overall combined score from patients for the areas of Inpatient, Outpatient, Emergency Department and Ambulatory Surgery. The Overall Best Performer Award recognizes high performing facilities that demonstrate consistency of experiences for patients throughout the organization.
“Avatar award winners are leading their peers in their dedication to service excellence and performance in healthcare,” said Jeff Brady, CEO and President of Avatar Solutions. “The awards signify that these organizations used information gathered from their patients to improve the quality of care available at their organization.”
CRH also received the Exceeding Patient Expectations award for all patient types. This is the 12th consecutive year the hospital has received this award. The Emergency Department received two Most Improved awards for the categories of Exemplary Service and Loyalty and Endorsement.
“This recognition is a credit to all our employees, physicians and volunteers that work in the hospital,” said Calais Regional Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer Mike Lally. “We are quite fortunate to have such a great team; I firmly believe that being a small community hospital is a strength. It offers us the opportunity to provide compassionate, personalized care close to home.”
Congratulations to all CRH staff for receiving such great recognition from our patients.
