LEWISTON, Maine — With more than 165 different exhibitors, one of Maine’s largest business networking events, will kick off Thursday in Lewiston with an estimated participation of 2,500 attendees from throughout New England.
“The [Androscoggin] Business to Business Trade Show has become a must-attend event for industry professionals,” said Calvin Rinck, marketing director for the Lewiston-Auburn Economic Growth Council and event organizer for the Business to Business Trade Show, in a press release. “For nearly two decades participants have successfully used the event to their advantage in order to develop business relationships. We are excited to present that opportunity again this year with our expanded venue.”
Having 100 percent sold out the indoor venue a record eight years running, committee members made the decision to expand outdoors shortly into the planning process.
“Innovation is the spring-board to any successful event,” said Rinck. “We’ve always had a handful of outdoor exhibitors but we’ve never escalated this opportunity to the level we wanted it to be at. We think this is a real opportunity and we hope to grow this well into the future.”
In a major marketing push, committee members began marketing the Business to Business Trade Show in early January to the rest of New England and beyond with hand-signed invitation letters and personal phone calls.
“We lost track after we broke a thousand,” said Rinck. “But the return is here. We’ve already had people register from as far away as California and Tennessee simply to attend and see what the Business to Business Trade Show is all about.”
In addition to the expanded venue, attendees can expect to see some new faces manning the booths.
“We have nearly 35 percent new exhibitors including well-known national and local brands that were absent from the previous year,” said Rinck. “We significantly increased our distribution list and went hard after key industries. Although this is the Androscoggin Business to Business Trade Show, over 22 percent of our exhibitors are from outside of Androscoggin County.”
With more than 57 industry and market segments represented, the Business to Business Trade Show continues to present a diverse and well-rounded exposition.
“Beyond the fact that this is a trade show, we view this more as a community exhibition. The more people we can draw to Lewiston and Auburn, the more we increase awareness and excitement for the projects underway,” said Rinck. “Between the developments in the downtowns, to new transportation initiatives, there are certainly a lot of reasons to be excited about the Lewiston and Auburn community.”
Located at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee, doors open to the public at 9:30 a.m. and admission is free with a business card. For more information, please visit www.b2bMaineTradeShow.com or call the Lewiston-Auburn Economic Growth Council at 784-0161 and ask for event organizer Calvin Rinck.
