AUGUSTA, Maine —The Maine Department of Labor announced the hiring of Pamela Taylor as the deputy director of the Bureau of Labor Standards.
Taylor will assist bureau director Richard Snow in providing oversight of Maine’s labor laws, including laws on minimum wage, youth employment, prevailing wage, hours, dismissals and SafetyWorks!, the department’s on-site health and safety consultation and training program. In addition, the bureau is responsible for compiling wage surveys and conducting investigations.
Taylor has several years’ experience in labor and human resource issues. She brings 14 years of experience interpreting and enforcing labor laws from her work as a wage and hour technician with the U.S. Department of Labor in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Taylor worked most recently in human resources in Maine.
