Wish you could see your favorite Robinson Ballet pieces again? Robinson Ballet’s Brick Church Series (I and II) is your chance. The Brick Church Series draws from Robinson Ballet’s 36 years of choreography to recreate two one-hour long evening performances (in the fall and the spring).
Audience members should expect to see some of their RBC favorites return from recent pieces and vintage choreography.
Performed in the Union Street Brick Church, the Brick Church Series is a place for the audience to mingle and converse while enjoying a cash wine bar and complimentary hors d’oeuvres before and after the performance. Seating is limited so reserve your tickets early. Tables of 8 can be reserved as well.
Tickets are 15.00 for adults and 10.00 for children 12 and under. Call 990-3140 for reservation or visit our website and pay online through Paypal at http://robinsonballet.org/?ai1ec_event=brick-church-series-ii&instance_id=3055
Brick Church Series I will present two pieces:
The Can Can was choreographed in the late 1970’s by Ralph Robinson. It is a light hearted divertissement to music from Offenbach’s “Gaite Parisienne”. The piece in which three sailors encounter six high kicking ladies has been enjoyed over the years by many Robinson Ballet audience goers.
Excerpts from Exhibit 51, choreographed by Stevie Dunham, premiered in 2008 and RBC Live! It is a story of aliens coming to Earth, attempting to assimilate and ultimately discovered and placed in a zoo-like exhibit. They are able to escape but will they make it back home? The music of the Blue Man Group will rock the audience as they enjoy this modern dance piece.
