SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — The Bioscience Association of Maine, a nonprofit trade organization located in Biddeford, will host its third annual Fall Conference Friday, Oct. 19, at the McKernan Center at Southern Maine Community College.
Keynote speaker will be Jonathan Fleming, managing partner of Oxford Bioscience Partners, an international venture capital firm. Fleming has started and financed biotechnology growth companies in the United States, Europe, Israel and Asia.
A new element to the conference will be two specialty presentation and feedback tracks. One track features identifying funding sources to stimulate company growth and another focuses on guiding companies that have products they would like to transition into the bioscience or healthcare industries.
The conference is open to anyone involved in or interested in Maine’s bioscience industry, including students. The bioscience industry includes diagnostics and medical devices, biopharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, veterinary products, aqua and agricultural products, bioenergy and industrial biotech applications as well as all related services.
