BANGOR, Maine —  In observance of National Assisted Living Week, Sept. 9-15, assisted living facilities affiliated with Rosscare will host events developed as a special opportunity to bring together residents, families, employees, volunteers and the surrounding community to celebrate “Art for the Ages,”  the theme for National Assisted Living Week .

Some of the week’s special events include:

• Sylvia Ross Home and Ross Manor in Bangor will host a Gallery of the Senses day Friday, Sept. 14, for music, arts and a cookout for family members and residents. Sylvia Ross residents also are planning a day trip to Bar Harbor.
• Dirigo Pines in Orono will host a variety show for residents on Monday, Sept. 11, and an open house for the community 4 -6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13.
