BANGOR, Maine — The City of Bangor has announced the appointment of Jason Bird of Glenburn as the Business Development Officer/Downtown Coordinator in the City of Bangor’s Department of Community and Economic Development.
Bird has a Masters of Public Administration degree and his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science both from the University of Maine at Orono. He served as the Community and Business Development Specialist for Eastern Maine Development Corporation from 2007 to 2010 and has been a Senior Program Director for the Midcoast Economic Development District in Damariscotta since August of 2010.
Bird has over five years of project development experience and a strong record of federal, state and local grant writing and fundraising. Jason has extensive knowledge of the CDBG program as a Certified Administrator and technical assistant. He also brings a nonprofit background to the position with his experience as the Chair of the Shaw House Board of Directors. His diverse background and experience will be a great asset to the City of Bangor and to the Downtown Bangor Partnership.
He will be introduced to the public at the Downtown Town Hall on Aug. 15at the Penobscot Theatre and will begin his official duties with the City of Bangor on August 27.
