Linda Greenlaw, America’s only female sword fishing captain, and the author of three New York Times best-selling books about life as a commercial fisherman plus several cookbooks and mysteries, will be the guest speaker at the Hancock County Planning Commission’s (HCPC) 43rd annual meeting at 7 p.m. on May 28, at the Ellsworth Public Library meeting room (enter lower level).

While this is the annual business meeting of the planning commission during which the agency budget and work plan will be adopted, and new executive board members elected, the public is welcome to attend.

“We are very pleased to have Linda Greenlaw speak about her experiences as a commercial fishing captain,” stressed HCPC executive director Tom Martin in a press release. “The fishing industry is in a state of transition and faces serious challenges. We welcome this opportunity to learn more about the marine sector, which is an important part of the Hancock County economy.”
