DAMARISCOTTA, Maine — Mid-Coast Maine Audubon invites birders to an all-day birding trip to Plum Island on Massachusetts’ North Shore. Participants will carpool from Hannaford’s parking lot in Damariscotta at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23  Bring a lunch as there are no dining facilities on the island.

Fourteen bird species, many at close range, were observed during the 2011 trip.
