Activities in the Wildlands listed

ORLAND, Maine — These activities are scheduled in the Great Pond Mountain Wildlands:

* Help build a primitive log bridge, Saturday, Aug. 18. Meet at 9 a.m. at the Wildlands South Gate on Route 1. Bring work gloves, bug spray, water, snack. For information, contact Scott at 207-825-4709 orscottcom36@roadrunner.com.

* Join Isaac Dorr of the Maine Primitive Skills School, 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, for a workshop on making a primitive two-person lean-to in the woods. Meet at the Great Pond Mountain Wildlands South Gate. Bring work gloves and clippers. Open to all ages. Call Hans at 207-479-0307 for information.

* Meet Great Pond Mountain Wildlands Steward Brian Keegstra at the Wildlands South Gate Tuesdays in August to build wildlife brush piles for snowshoe hares, winter wrens and other small mammals and songbirds.
