26th annual log sawing/axe throwing contest

SEDGWICK, Maine — The Sedgwick-Brooklin Historical Society will hold its 26th annual log sawing and axe throwing contest 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 6, rain or shine.

The event will be held at the historic Daniel Merrill house, Route 172.

Contestants can win a ribbon and all can enjoy pressing apples from the old apple trees along with other activities.

All are welcome and  admission is free.
