DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District in partnership with Natural Resources Conservation Service will host the 2012 Cooperator of the Year Annual Tour and Luncheon Demonstration Field Day on Saturday, Aug. 25,  in honor of the Stutzman Farm for excellent agricultural management.

Gordon Moore, Chairperson of the District will head up the event with introductions of the family and a brief history of the District. David Power, NRCS District Conservationist will speak on the details of the work that has been accomplished. The guests will take a tour of the farm, the land and the High Tunnels.

University of Maine’s Assistant Extension Professor Caragh Fitzgerald will report on the findings of a survey for area improvements and soil quality issues during the lunch that the Stutzmans’ will serve. The District will present the family with a framed certificate, a PCSWCD hat, and a family farm sign.
