FORT KENT, Maine — The Knights of Columbus is requesting photos of loved ones who have served in the armed forces of the United State to be displayed at the Military Appreciation Ball on Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Knights of Columbus hall. A social hour will begin at 5 p.m., a meal will be served at 6 p.m. and dancing will begin at 8 p.m.
Photos may be sent emailed to email@example.com or call him at Duane Belanger at 207-951-2874 to arrange to have a photo to be scanned. Those who attend the event will have an opportunity to meet with service personnel of the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force all in full dress with guests seated at a place of honor. The U.S. Coast Guard has been contacted and may send representation as well.
Active duty service members will be served by local Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts in uniform.
Fourth Degree Knights are asked to attend in tuxedos and all other attendees are asked to wear “Sunday dress.” Veterans may wear uniforms they wore while serving or service organization uniforms for members of the American Legion, VFW or Marine Corps League, for example. Veterans and dignitaries from the Valley and throughout Maine also will be on hand.
Admission is $10 and proceeds will benefit the U.S. Marine Corp Toys for Tots.
