WATERVILLE, Maine — Aliza Van Leesten had her second game-winning goal of the week, this time to help Colby College to a 1-0 win over Wesleyan University in NESCAC women’s soccer Saturday.

While Van Leesten had the big goal, Colby goalkeeper Sam Rizzo earned the shutout with 15 saves. The Cardinals had a 29-9 shot advantage, including 19 shots in the second half in trying to get the equalizer.
Van Leesten, who scored in overtime to beat University of New England on Wednesday, scored her goal off a play that started on a corner kick. The ball somehow made it through a pack of players in front and Van Leesten chased the ball down on the left side of the goal. Van Leesten, who started dribbling away from the goal, made a quick turn, beat a defender, and put a high shot over the goalkeeper’s head and into the right corner of the goal.
Rizzo stopped six shots in the opening half, while Claire Coyle made two saves for Wesleyan.
The Cardinals had five players with three shots or more, including six from Mo Nelson.
