Washburn Boys Soccer 1 at Southern Aroostook 2

At Dyer Brook, Southern Aroostook goalkeeper Austin White made a diving save to his right on a penalty kick after two scoreless overtime periods to give the No. 7 Warriors the win over the N0. 10 Beavers in an Eastern Maine Class D prelim.

After two scoreless overtime periods, the game went to penalty kicks where the Warriors prevailed, 4-3, with White stopping Washburn’s attempt to tie it.

Cody Lassonde tied the game for the Warriors with 20:05 left in regulation when he scored off a Trenton Cullinan pass. Noah Caron scored a first-half goal for Washburn.

White finished with nine saves for 10-4-1 SAHS while Jarrett Olson also made nine saves for 6-7-2 Washburn.
