MANCHESTER ,N.H. — Victoria Shea had three goals and an assist to power the Saint Anselm College women’s ice hockey team to a 9-0 victory over the University of New England in a New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) tilt played Saturday afternoon at the Hart Center.
The Hawks (13-2-2, 10-1-0 NEHC), who led 4-0 after a period and 7-0 after two, received a pair of goals from Mary Morrison and one apiece by Sara McNamara, Martha Findley, Alison Butler and Ashley Moran. Winning goaltender MaddieScavatto recorded her 10th victory after stopping 11 shots.
Saint Anselm blitzed the Nor’easters with 55 shots on goal, keeping UNE goaltenders Sydney Helmbrecht and Caty Flagg busy all day. Helmbrecht registered 29 saves in the opening 30:35 and Flagg was credited with 17 saves the rest of the way.
The Nor’easters (6-9-2, 3-5-1) will play consecutive NEHC home games next Friday and Saturday when Castleton University and Norwich University come to the Harold Alfond Forum.
