DUDLEY, Mass. — Grayson Szczepaniak (Lakewood, Ohio) had a match-high 11 points on seven kills (.700 hitting percentage) and four aces to lead a balanced University of New England attack in a 3-0 victory over Nichols College on Saturday afternoon (Sep. 24) in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women’s volleyball action. Set scores were 25-9, 25-10, and 25-20.
Rene Roggenbuck (Goffstown, N.H.) notched 10 kills in support for the Nor’easters (6-5, 1-1 CCC), topping all players, and Katie Flynn (Merrimack, N.H.) contributed nine winners. Brittany Morrison (Rosemount, Minn.) pulled up 11 digs and added three aces. Kristen Falcinelli (Silver Spring, Md.) tallied 24 assists, and her seven digs were equalled by Flynn.
For the Bison (5-7, 0-1 CCC), J’Ena Baker had six kills and eight digs. Jayla Simmons totaled 10 digs.
It was the first-ever meeting between the programs, as Nichols is in its inaugural season.
