HENNIKER, N.H. – UMaine Farmington fell to New England College on Sunday afternoon in the semifinals of the North Atlantic Conference tournament by a score of 8-7.

Rhi Jackson scored her 50th and 51st goals of the season, setting a new program record. Jackson is now at 99 career points as she has scored 86 career goals to go along with 13 career assists.

NEC’s Mackenzie Meegan notched nine saves in the victory, while Farmington’sSamantha Bickford had an impressive game recording 12 saves.


The two teams would battle through the opening 16 minutes scoreless before NEC would break the drought as Caitlin Shanahan would convert on a free-position shot. NEC would make it 2-0 just over a minute later, this time on a free-position from Alana Scott. Farmington would get on the board with just under nine minutes on the clock as Rhi Jackson would shovel in a feed from Jenessa Talarico. Allison Granata would get the Pilgrims back up by two scoring her sixty-fourth goal of the season assisted by Bainbridge with 2:46 left in the half.

The final 1:09 of the first was eventful as Farmington’s Carly Raymond would first net a goal on a Beaver free-position and then march down the field and get a transition goal, unassisted. NEC would grab a final score with 18 ticks on the clock as Shanahan would put in a feed from Granata giving the Pilgrims the 4-3 halftime lead.

NEC would grab their largest lead of the game in the opening six minutes of the second half as Bainbridge would score on a free-position followed by a Scott goal assisted by Kaitlyn Kostigen, putting the Pilgrims up 6-3.

Farmington would continue to battle as the Beavers would score four of the next five goals, including the game-tying goal on a free-position by Nickyia Lovely with 8:35 on the clock.

Bainbridge would then come through for the Pilgrims as she would scoop up a loose ball at midfield and tack it in for the unassisted goal with 5:06 remaining in regulation.
