Game 3 – AMC 4, UMPI 2
Day two of the series would start with a tightly contested pitcher’s duel. The Owls would threaten in the second, loading the bases with one out, but would not be able to plate a run, keeping the game in a scoreless tie. The AMCats would finally get on the board in the third, when Darren Belliveau (FR, Baldwin, MA) would reach on a single and later score on a sacrifice fly.
A single, two walks, and an infield single off the bat of Jesus Garcia (JR, Jewett City, CT) would tie the game in the sixth inning. A bases loaded walk would give the Owls the lead, but Anna Maria would respond. An error would allow the tying run to reach and an infield single would allow him to score. Tanner Jakola (JR, Leominster, MA) would deliver the big blow later in the inning, singling to center and driving in two runs on the play. The Owls threatened in the seventh, but a line drive double play would end the game.
Solomon Fast (JR, Phillips, ME) would end the game two for four from the plate. Tyler McLaughlin (JR, Fremont, CA) gave up just two earned runs and strike out five in six innings of work for the Owls.
