UNITY, Maine – The University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls (0-3-1) fought to a 1-1 tie while visiting the Unity College Rams (2-1-1) on Friday afternoon.
Hayley Tlatenchiwould give the Rams the early lead, sneaking a goal into the net. The Owls would keep pressure on the host team from that point on, but would not convert in the first half, going into the break down by one.
The second half was dominated by UMPI who outshot their opponent 7-1 in the period. In the 50th minute senior Carla Halvorson would tie the game with her first goal of the season. Despite outshooting Unity in the first overtime period, the Owls were not able to break through.
Neither team would register a shot in the second overtime, and time would run out with the score tied at one.
