BANGOR, Maine – Husson University Baseball Team (5-8) swept non-conference in-state rival, University of Maine Presque Isle (2-18), 5-1 and 6-2, in a doubleheader at Harold Alfond Diamond at Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex on Tuesday afternoon.
Game 2 Husson 6, UMaine Presque Isle 2 (7-Inning)
How it Happened:
The Owls started off the scoring in the first inning as Bradley Patterson (Littleton, Maine) helped out his own cause with a RBI-double to left center field that pushed Ryan Sanderson (Cow Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada) across the plate and give the Owls a 1-0 lead.
The Eagles responded in the bottom of the inning as Covey cleared the bases with a 3-run RBI-double to left-center field to give the Eagles a 3-1 lead. Strachan continued the scoring with a single up the middle to score Covey and give the Eagles 4-1 lead.
In the 2nd, the Eagles added a run as Guerrette stole 2nd and 3rd base to set up Chapman who singled up the middle to bring home Guerrette.
The Owls responded in the 4th inning as Jesus Garcia (Jewett City, Conn.) score on an error to claw within three runs, 5-2 Eagles.
Husson scored the final run of the game as Wong advanced Conor Maguire (Ellsworth, Maine) on a bunt but thanks to an error, Wong scored. The 6-2 score would hold for the Eagle sweep.
Covey with three RBI, a hit, and a run scored.

Cam Graham (Littleton, Maine) pitched five innings and allowed two runs on six hits while walking two and striking out seven.
