WATERVILLE, Maine — Haley Driscoll had a game-high 21 points and added eight rebounds, two blocked shots, two steals, and two assists for the Colby College women’s basketball team in a 59-41 win over the University of Maine at Fort Kent on Sunday at Wadsworth Gymnasium.
The Mules (3-1 overall) had a 54-40 rebounding advantage. Emily Davis had a game-high 11 boards and six points, while Colby teammate Katie McCrum added 10 rebounds (5 offensive) and six points.
Driscoll was 8-for-14 from the field on a mixture of drives to the basket and 12-foot jumpers. She also went 5-for-5 from the foul line. Ainsley Burns had 12 points on 6-for-12 shooting, while MK Caverly dished a game-high six assists and had six rebounds.
Bianca Gutierrez was 4-for-4 from 3-point range for 12 points, had four rebounds, and three assists for Maine-Fort Kent (8-1). Savana Jankowski had six points, six rebounds, five steals, and four assists. Angel Clark finished with seven points, while Ashley Sauri had six points and nine boards.
After taking a 25-19 halftime lead, Colby had a 34-22 scoring advantage in the second half. The Mules shot 47 percent (8-for-17) in the fourth quarter to pull away.
